The North West Show Jumping Championships are now in their 8th year and have proved
to be hugely popular with show jumpers from beginners classes to open level. The same format will run again with 5 pony classes and 5 horse classes with prizes down to 12th place.  The finals will be held on the 25th & 26th August 2012. If you would like to host a qualifier, qualifier classes can be held up to this date.

The North West Working Hunter Championships are now into their 3rd year and have been growing in popularity.  Due to requests there will be a beginner’s class on each day this year.  Prizes are awarded to 12th place in each class. There will be 6 finals on day 1 for ponies and small breeds M+M and 6 classes for horses with working cob and large breeds M+M on day 2. The finals will be held on the 25th & 26th August 2012.  Qualifier classes can be held up to this date.

The Blue Chip North West Showing Championships were held for the first time last year. They proved a huge success. They will run again this year under the same format- a 1 day show outdoors on grass aimed at genuine riding club members. There are standard ridden and in hand classes as well as more fun classes.  There is also the Handy Pony championships and fancy dress championship. With stunning rosettes, sashes and prizes it proved a huge hit with competitors. The final is held on the Saturday 22nd September, qualifiers can be held up to this date.

All the finals are hosted by Bridgewater Riding Club and will be held at Cheshire Riding School Showground, Northwich, CW9 6BS.

Registration for all 3 championships is free.  

For show secretaries, the qualifier cards come ready completed to match your classes so there is no paperwork for you to complete, simply hand out the cards to the class winners.

The Bluechip North West Showing Championships return on Saturday 22nd September 2012.

These finals are aimed at the riding club member and grass roots riders who do not get the chance to go to a final where their horse or pony, whatever their type, is appreciated. It couldn’t be simpler to qualify either, the winner of each of your non-jumping classes will receive a card confirming their qualification, then they register online and we send them an entry form. So no paperwork for you busy show secretaries! It’s also FREE to register, which can’t be bad in this day and age!

All ridden and in hand showing classes, equitation classes and even handy pony are covered. There are 64 classes at the final with something for absolutely everyone from Shetlands to Shires, hacks, cobs, hunters and most appealing faces and all in between.

Every finalist will receive a medal and car sticker, and in every class they will receive a rosette even if unplaced. Every class is a championship with sashes to Champ and Reserve, then there are 9 section championships with Champ, Reserve and Second Reserve. The day culminates in a Supreme of Show, with all section winners and reserves coming forward.

Well it’s come to that time of year, the final show of the season…. We are busy collating and checking the points so far. Please don’t worry if you have a points discrepancy on the website, we are aware, and anyone who has emailed us with the details, we are sorting it!

It was a fantastic North West Showjumping champs over August Bank Holiday. Well done to all our members who attended, and represented the club so well.

It will soon be time to order your tickets for Presentation Night!

I will be sending a form out with the points winners list, but in the meantime we will get an order form onto the website asap. We will also have order forms at the show on 27th.

This month’s charities

Are HAPPA, I’m sure you are all aware of the fantastic work they do for horses and ponies, and for our human charity we have the British Lung Foundation. This was suggested by Lisa Kirwan, who sadly lost a family member to
lung cancer recently. Our thoughts go to you and your family, Lisa, and we hope our donation will help this worthwhile cause.

September is Championship time!

There will be 12 championships at the final show, with shashes, rosettes and trophies to Champion and Reserve, and medals to all forward. Main Ring, Ring 1 and Handy Pony will all be decided on a points system, but the other rings will require 1st and 2nd places to return for their respective championships. There will be a WH champion, separate In Hand and Ridden championships for both Showing and Family, Equitation, Ridden Hunter, separate Pony and Horse champions in Main Ring, separate Junior and Senior champions in Ring 1, and the highest score over all 4 classes in Handy Pony will take the Championship there. Are we good to you or what?! Let’s have a fantastic final
show for 2009!
