AGM

Well, it’s that time of year again… Presentation Night is done (a great night, well done to all our winners!), and the AGM looms into view. This is your chance to come along and make any comments or observations you may have, offer to help, even join our merry band of committee. The AGM form can be downloaded here to complete and send in to us. Please take this chance to get your point across, as it’s too late by the time the season starts!

Membership, 2012 Dates & New Schedule

I’m delighted to tell you that we are keeping the same membership and class prices, and we are offering a 20% discount for early joiners! There is a 20% discount for forms returned by February 25th. That means you can get your membership for the yearly price of £16 instead of £20. Every little helps in these cash-strapped times. It’s well worth joining, as we have even more classes as you can see on the schedule page, and you will also see all our show dates for the 2012 season.

Winter Show

Saturday 25^th February sees our Winter Show at Bold Heath Equestrian Centre. Click here for schedule and entry forms. It’s well worth getting your entries in before the day, particularly if you have also joined as a member. There is plenty to enter for all, with both in hand and ridden classes, and rosettes down to 8^th place.

So all that remains for me to say is that I hope to see you all in the new season, and wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a successful and prosperous 2012.

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice the final September show will now be held earlier than usual at the start of September to accomodate the North West Showing Championships which moves to a new later September date.

We will return to the Cheshire Riding School showground in 2012 with the usual Showjumping, Working Hunter, Showing, Equitation & Handy Pony rings. 2012 will also see the return of the North West Showjumping & Working Hunter Championships over the August Bank Holiday.

We would also like to hold clinics again – please let us know if there is anything specific you would like to concentrate on.

The show is open to members and non-members with all the usual Bridgewater classes to take part in.

Bridgewater Riding Club are sending 4 teams ( 2 in each height section) to the Jump for Joy Mark Davis Injured Rider Team Show on the 30th October at Adlington Equestrian Centre.  To be part of our teams please let our show jumping judges know you are interested.  There are excellent team prizes – there are also individual classes you can enter.  Money raised goes to this excellent charity.

After our very windy show in May we return on Sunday 26th June with a Medal Show. We had a huge number of emails from you saying how much you enjoyed the show and a lot of people got involved on Horse Gossip to say what a great show you had. Thank you as always for your support.

This show will have Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA) ridden qualifier before lunch in the equitation ring, and in-hand directly after the judge has had a lunch break. There are rosettes to the highest placed solid colour too!

Unfortunately we have taken the decision to cancel Sunday 15th August’s show. This is not a decision we make easily as we put a huge amount of effort into preparing each show, however horse welfare is always our number 1 priority.

It has been made known to us that there is a case of strangles in the area and although the case will be totally cleared in time for the show we as a club feel that with so many horses coming from all over the North West, it’s not worth taking the risk for Sunday 15th.

We are really sorry to cancel however we hope you understand and appreciate our decision. Any pre-entries will be carried over to September’s show. For those who were coming to qualify for the North West Showjumping & Working Hunter Championships please click here for information about Wildcard entry.
