September Championship Trophy Show

Thank you to everyone who came today! It is hard to believe that it is the last show of the season already!!!

So as the sun started to set, the last rosettes were handed out and the last horse box drove off the field, the able bodied team of helpers from the committee tucked away the jumps for winter.

It was doubtful that there would be a show on Friday evening as the heavens opened. As ever the showground was incredible in draining!

We will send out a list of trophy winners after the points have been collated in the next couple of weeks, so you will all know what you have won. The big overall trophies are of course kept secret until the night, along with special merit trophies. It could be you!

We look forward to seeing you at Presentation Night.  Saturday November 27th, at Rumours nightclub, Lostock Social Club (CW9 7NW). Tickets are £6 adults and £4 children, and that includes a buffet.

First place in each class automatically gets a rosette, but if you want the tail print personalised (whatever you like, within reason!) it’s just an extra £4.

For those not so lucky, you can purchase a rosette with personalisation for £10. These will be a different colour to the champion rosettes. Sashes are also available with 3 lines of printing for £10. A form will be sent with the points list. And for all you newbies out there, these rosettes are VERY large!!!

There’s a raffle with great prizes, disco, games for the juniors, and it’s a great evening. We can’t wait!

But to finish off the season lets say a massive thank you to everyone!! Competitors, committee, judges, stewards, Ian and Andrea Foden at Cheshire Riding Club for a fantastic showground, Tony for yet another year of his superb First Aid support, competitor family and friends, photographers, trade stands, butty vans, ice cream vans, coffee shop man, toilet people…all for an amazing season.

But let’s not forget those that mean the most, the real characters of the show, the real star performers and the real reason why we’re all here at Bridgewater Riding Club; the horses and ponies that we all love so very much.

See you on the 27th November!

September 2010 Newsletter

Hello to all!

Well, what a weekend we had over the Bank Holiday… The Show Jumping Championships were their usual runaway success, and the new Working Hunter Championships made a fantastic start. The weather wasn’t ideal, but the ground held well in both rings and the courses were superb. Well done to Becky in the SJ and Adrian in the WH for the fantastic course building.

And to those of you who attended, congratulations for qualifying and extremely well done for representing the club in such a positive way. Some of you had extra special results, and I was really pleased to see our members doing so well. It’s always a proud moment for me to present our members with prizes in a line up with other good riders from other clubs and shows.

Championship Show this month! Click here to see class details for details. Unfortunately, we are still missing two trophies from last year’s September show that need to be brought back immediately. The 2 Family Ring trophies are missing and we have had no answers at the contact details left with us. The Ridden trophy was won by Kate Zygaddllo and the In Hand trophy by Emma Clarke. Ladies, please return these trophies, or someone else will lose out this year. Or if anyone is in contact with them, please inform Kate and Emma that we want our trophies back. Thanks!

I also need to ask anyone who still has any perpetual trophies from last year’s Presentation Night to return them at the September Show. It’s not a pleasant experience to have a visit from me the week before Presentation to pick up the trophies, and everyone has had plenty of time to get engraving done. Please make our job as committee easier and more pleasant by returning them.

Ok, best of luck at the final show. See you there!
Ruth

PRESENTATION NIGHT

The date is Saturday November 27th, at Rumours nightclub at Lostock Social Club (CW9 7NW) (I’m sorry, it still sounds like something out of Phoenix Nights). It’s actually a bigger venue, so there will be loads of room for everyone!

You will need to pre-book, and tickets will be kept to last year’s price of £6 adults and £4 children, and that includes a buffet. I know, good, eh? So please get in touch and let us know.

We will send out a list of trophy winners after the points are collated after the final show, so you will all know what you have won. The big overall trophies are of course kept secret until the night, along with special merit trophies. It could be you!

NWSJC Results

Thank you to everyone who took part at the NWSJC

The weather was in true British style- awful!  On the Sunday morning it resembled a monsoon at times, but by the afternoon we were bathed in glorious sunshine!

The results are on the NWSJC page and photos uploaded to flicker (taken by Bridgewater Riding Club).

The official photographers for both rings were www.wilstaffimages.com

There will be a full report in Gallop Magazine with pictures.  www.gallopmag.co.uk

I hope you had a good time and enjoyed the event and we look forwards to seeing you in 2011.

Any suggestions for next years event- classes/prizes are most welcome.

Testimonials

Dear Rowena

Just a short e mail to say a great big thank you to all the people who were involved in organising the NWSJC at the weekend. I competed on Sunday, luckily for me at the end of the day, and had a brilliant time.

I’ve been involved with horse trials for a long time and appreciate how much work goes into organising something like this, especially with the awful weather you had to deal with on Saturday and part of Sunday. Everyone was really friendly and helpful and it was lovely to be part of it.

Hopefully I can qualify next year again.

Hi there

The show was fantastic yesterday, we had a great day.

Hi

Just wanted to say thank you very much for a lovely day at the NWSJ finals last weekend. Despite the showers, my daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves and she was delighted to have been placed in the classes she entered.

It was our first time at these championships and I hope we will be lucky enough to come again. We were made to feel very welcome and, despite running late due to high entries, the show seemed well organised. I’m sure that a lot of hard work goes in to the planning and running of these events and that many people give their valuable time with little personal reward. I would like those involved to know that their hard work is appreciated.
