Final Points & Presentation Night

Hi everyone….

Well it’s that time again. We have sifted, checked and re-checked, and your results are now here. You can view them by clicking here.

Presentation Night is on Saturday 27th November at Rumours Nightclub, Lostock Social Club, (Works Lane, Northwich, CW9 7NW). Presentation Night opens at 7pm for a 7.30pm prompt start for the Champions Trophy Presentation. Tickets are £6 for seniors and £4 for juniors and there will be a buffet, a bar, disco and games, quizzes and a raffle. You can download a Presentation Night ticket order form by clicking here.

You can also download a rosette order form by clicking here. For those of you who are new, all first place winners automatically receive a rosette (these are NOT small, by the way…). For a £5 fee, you winners can have the tail printed with whatever you like (let’s keep it clean and polite please!). For those of you who were unlucky, you may buy a rosette (different colour scheme from our champions) including your choice of tail printing for £10.

For everyone, there is the choice to buy a beautiful sash with 3 rows of printing of your choice for £12. Again, champions will have a different colour scheme to everyone else. I must stress that the cut off for orders is 24th October. We must have all orders by then or we won’t have enough time. This is a strict one I’m afraid!

Also, don’t forget the mystery trophies… There are special merit trophies, ring winners and the overall trophies to be announced, so you never know…. Please get your ticket orders to Carol by 7th November, we need the numbers to arrange food. Don’t be late!

Anyone who STILL has perpetual trophies from last year MUST return them to Carol as soon as possible. You really don’t want a visit from the chairman the night before!

Finally, congratulations to you all for doing so well. It’s been a fantastic season. If you are new, I hope you enjoyed your first season with us, and to all old friends, it’s been lovely to see you all back.

I must thank my committee who have done sterling work this year putting on these shows, and I’m sure you will show your appreciation to them on the night (they won’t say no to a drink!!).

See you in November!

Ruth

TopSpec Feeds Interview

Our eagled eyed Junior Committee was on the look out at the North West Show Jumping & Working Hunter Championships in August. Becky Gaskell managed to catch Corrie Green from TopSpec Feeds for an interview.

Q1 – When should you feed your horses?
A – If left to their own devices horses graze for around 16 hours per day. Their digestive systems are suited to eating little and often and a very high fibre diet.

Q2 – How many products do you sell?
A – TopSpec products can be divided into 5 groups;
Feed balancers- providing protein and micronutrients
Supplements – providing micronutrients
Blends- improved mixtures of straights to provide calories for maintenance or condition
Additives- designed to be added to any ration to help solve specific problems e.g. calmer
Chops- used to mix and bulk feed

Q3 – How many feeds are there in the whole of the UK?
A -There are huge quantities of different feeds available in the UK. From locally produced rations to nationally available products.

Q4 – How many clients go to your shop for different feeds to give to their horses?
A – TopSpec products are highly respected throughout the equine industry and are used by thousands of people. TopSpec’s free nutritional helpline is the only one ever to be awarded “Nutritional Helpline of the Year Award” three years running by the British Equestrian Trade Association. The helpline is used by hundreds of people each year.

Q5 – Do your feeds have every vitamin the horses need?
A – Feeding a fixed amount of TopSpec balancer or supplement each day provides a consistent balance and optimum level of micronutrients to balance your horse’s diet.

Q6 – Do you use any of your feeds?
A – All 3 of my horses are fed on TopSpec products. They are currently getting TopChop Alfalfa, TopSpec Feed Balancer morning and night.

Q7 – Do you think TopSpec are the leading feed specialists?
A – TopSpec is the leading brand of feed balancers in the UK.

Q8 – Do you have any judges use your products?
A – TopSpec is fed to a variety of horses from retired horses to international competing horses. It has been used to improve condition, performance and relaxation of leading horses in all disciplines throughout the UK.

(Editor’s note: Our treasurer, Helen uses TopSpec Feed Balancer for her horse Opal and they took part at Horse of the Year show!!)

Full nutritional details and advice can be found at www.topspec.com. Thanks to TopSpec for their amazing support in 2010.
