We have been announced as a finalist of the Equestrian Social Media Awards 2012!

2,629 individuals submitted 8,137 nominations. Nominees were subject to strict engagement criteria such as how quickly they respond to comments, post original content and demonstrate good online etiquette. The top ten in each category with the most unique supporting statements got through to the finals.

The final results are based 70% on scores from the Expert Panel (three judges to each category) and 30% on votes from the public. The panel is a hand-picked group of the best equestrian marketers, digital professionals, social media gurus and branding experts from across the globe.

The North West Show Jumping Championships are now in their 8th year and have proved
to be hugely popular with show jumpers from beginners classes to open level. The same format will run again with 5 pony classes and 5 horse classes with prizes down to 12th place.  The finals will be held on the 25th & 26th August 2012. If you would like to host a qualifier, qualifier classes can be held up to this date.

The North West Working Hunter Championships are now into their 3rd year and have been growing in popularity.  Due to requests there will be a beginner’s class on each day this year.  Prizes are awarded to 12th place in each class. There will be 6 finals on day 1 for ponies and small breeds M+M and 6 classes for horses with working cob and large breeds M+M on day 2. The finals will be held on the 25th & 26th August 2012.  Qualifier classes can be held up to this date.

The Blue Chip North West Showing Championships were held for the first time last year. They proved a huge success. They will run again this year under the same format- a 1 day show outdoors on grass aimed at genuine riding club members. There are standard ridden and in hand classes as well as more fun classes.  There is also the Handy Pony championships and fancy dress championship. With stunning rosettes, sashes and prizes it proved a huge hit with competitors. The final is held on the Saturday 22nd September, qualifiers can be held up to this date.

All the finals are hosted by Bridgewater Riding Club and will be held at Cheshire Riding School Showground, Northwich, CW9 6BS.

Registration for all 3 championships is free.  

For show secretaries, the qualifier cards come ready completed to match your classes so there is no paperwork for you to complete, simply hand out the cards to the class winners.

AGM

Well, it’s that time of year again… Presentation Night is done (a great night, well done to all our winners!), and the AGM looms into view. This is your chance to come along and make any comments or observations you may have, offer to help, even join our merry band of committee. The AGM form can be downloaded here to complete and send in to us. Please take this chance to get your point across, as it’s too late by the time the season starts!

Membership, 2012 Dates & New Schedule

I’m delighted to tell you that we are keeping the same membership and class prices, and we are offering a 20% discount for early joiners! There is a 20% discount for forms returned by February 25th. That means you can get your membership for the yearly price of £16 instead of £20. Every little helps in these cash-strapped times. It’s well worth joining, as we have even more classes as you can see on the schedule page, and you will also see all our show dates for the 2012 season.

Winter Show

Saturday 25^th February sees our Winter Show at Bold Heath Equestrian Centre. Click here for schedule and entry forms. It’s well worth getting your entries in before the day, particularly if you have also joined as a member. There is plenty to enter for all, with both in hand and ridden classes, and rosettes down to 8^th place.

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice the final September show will now be held earlier than usual at the start of September to accomodate the North West Showing Championships which moves to a new later September date.

We will return to the Cheshire Riding School showground in 2012 with the usual Showjumping, Working Hunter, Showing, Equitation & Handy Pony rings. 2012 will also see the return of the North West Showjumping & Working Hunter Championships over the August Bank Holiday.

We would also like to hold clinics again – please let us know if there is anything specific you would like to concentrate on.

Big thank you to everyone who came to our Presentation Night on Saturday. The venue looked fantastic! Well done to everyone who picked up trophies and rosettes, you all looked stunning in your outfits.
